能源与动力工程专业英语是热能与动力工程专业学生的一门重要必修课，其目的是为培养该专业学生的专业阅读与写作能力。

建筑环境与能源应用工程专业有两个最重要的全国性大学生专业学科奖项：人环奖、CAR-ASHRAE学生设计竞赛。
“人工环境工程学科奖学金”（简称“人环奖”）是由全国高等学校建筑环境与设备工程专业指导委员会于1992年发起设立和组织评奖，由清同方人工环境有限公司全额捐赠并全程主办。
目的是激励青年学生的奋发进取精神，促进我国暖通行业的发展和进步，培育优秀的暖通人才，奖励立志在人工环境领域做出贡献的优秀在校大学生。
“人环奖”至今已举办21届，是人工环境学科领域唯一的国家级奖学金，已经为一百多所院校的1000余名学生提供了奖励资金。每年“人环奖”都汇聚了众多暖通行业领袖专家学者，成为共同成就人才选拔与人才培养的行业盛会。
“CAR-ASHRAE学生设计竞赛”是由由中国制冷学会、美国ASHRAE(供热、通风空调学会）、住房和城乡建设部高等学校建筑环境与设备工程专业指导委员会共同主办的，为该专业另一最重要的全国性学科竞赛。
