一般地板的清洁保养：根据地板材质，选择适合的地板清洁剂，使用前，依照脏污程度，将适量的地板清洁剂倒入水桶内稀释，再把拖把由室内往门口的方向拖地。如果是角落或地板缝等较不易清理的地方，可以用旧牙刷直接沾地板清洁剂刷洗较难洗的顽垢，也可以直接将地板清洁剂倒在抹布上，擦拭后，再以清水冲洗即可。不过，有些地板清洁剂中的界面活性剂浓度较高，拖完地后，半湿的地面反而更容易沾染灰尘，结果越弄越脏，因此，要特别注意选择有良好商誉的产品。如果想要让磨石子或大理地面在清洁过后，还能带有光可鉴人的闪亮效果，不妨使用具有水蜡配方的地板清洁亮光剂，使用后只要任其风干即可。

木质地板的清洁保养：切忌用湿拖把直接擦拭，应使用木质地板专用清洁剂进行清洁，让地板保持原有的温润质感与自然原色，并可预防木板干裂。注意，为了避免过多的水份会渗透到木质地板里层，造成发霉、腐烂的情形，使用地板清洁剂时，应尽量将拖把拧干。若是表面未经上光处理，因不宜接触水，最好在不显眼的地方试用看看，确定没有问题后，再大面积使用。如果想要避免地板长期踩踏磨损，常保光泽亮丽，地板清洁后，可以再上一层木质地板蜡保养剂。不过要注意，一定要等地板完全风干后再上蜡，以免蜡层无法完全附着于木质地板上。反而使地板出现一点一点的白斑。而且最好使用平面式海绵拖把，以免一般拖把的棉絮随剂残留在地板上。

地毯的清洁保养。地毯即使经常吸尘，也会因长期踩踏、液体溅湿与潮湿的气候，而容易有藏污或地虱，此时，可配合地毯清洁剂进行清洁保养。使用前，最好先将窗户打开，避免清洁剂的味道滞留在屋内。基本上，使用地毯清洁剂非常方便，只要将清洁剂喷洒于地毯表面。但切勿弄得太湿，以免弄湿了衬背，地毯很难干且易褪色。待污垢与地毯表面分离后，地毯上会浮现现一点点的白色棉絮，再用一般的吸尘器除分离物即可，不需再用水清洗。如果想要用清水清除残留的油污一定要使用冷水，因温热水只会使污渍扩大，反而弄巧成拙。地毯的绒毛若已被家具压平，可在洗涤前，利用硬币的边缘将其慢慢拨起，或是将湿毛巾摺两下，覆盖在被压平处，然后，用稍热的熨斗缓慢蒸热压平了的绒毛，使其竖起。
