由于具有超强的机械性能和摩擦性能，在过去的二十年间，氢化非晶碳涂层成为一个被密集研究的科研项目。近来，有人提出了用于摩擦力要求非常严格的环境下的纳米混合物概念。它的原理是在光滑的氢化非晶碳分子间嵌入一种金属碳化物分子，从而能够大大增强抗阻力的性能。这项工作的目的是为了研究基于碳化铬与氢化非晶碳混合的涂层的结构，机械性能和摩擦性能。在充满氩和甲烷的环境中，应用磁控溅射镀膜技术，通过反应将金属铬镀到一定范围内的混合物涂层上。借助X光衍射和拉曼光谱分析，来描述碳化铬和氢化非晶碳的相组成。采用干滑道实验用于验证不同球体的摩擦系数。 摩擦系数，即涂层的硬度，与氢化非晶碳的不同SP3/SP2以及碳化铬的百分比有关。 置于高甲烷的不完全压力中，涂层能够获得最低的摩擦系数，0.15.
